Document privacy: file expiry and deletion

Understand result expiry, receipt confirmation and the limits of document deletion before uploading.

Choose how long results remain available

Retention sets how long job files are available to download. New jobs default to 90 days. Before requesting a quote, you can choose 1–90 days or the existing 48-hour and 30-day options. The clock starts when processing ends, including jobs that partially complete, fail or are cancelled. Account records have separate retention rules.

Downloads stop when results expire or are awaiting deletion. Expired files are queued for removal, so download expiry does not mean the files have already been erased.

Receipt confirmation is a separate action

For delete-after-receipt jobs, merely opening or downloading a result does not confirm receipt. Explicit confirmation queues deletion of source files, rendered pages and output files for the job. Download and check everything you need before confirming.

Without confirmation or a keep-results choice, these jobs expire 24 hours after original completion. Keeping results uses 1–90 days from that original completion; it cannot revive expired or deletion-pending files. Unused uploads expire after 24 hours.

Ask about the records outside the job

Deleting documents does not automatically delete accounts, billing records, email records or backups. Retention periods for backups and these other records are not final. Request data-deletion review for your account; submitting a request does not immediately erase it.

Read the privacy policy and security statement before sending sensitive material. Confirm processing locations, providers and backup handling. No certifications, data-location guarantees or encryption of stored files are claimed here.
